As the areas only “real restaurant”, 2A has become a definite dining favourite in Malmesbury. Named after its address on Silver Street, the 2A offers a relaxed and stylish elegance. A humble doorway leads into a small, charming bistro area where guests are greeted by smartly dressed, friendly and enthusiastic staff. The lilac-painted Lloyd Loom furniture, crisp linen tablecloths and fine tableware add to the warm welcome.
All menus take advantage of seasonal ingredients. The set menu changes daily and the more complex gourmet menu changes seasonally. All food is cooked freshly to order by Philip Gilder, Chef-Proprietor, whose willingness to make changes in ingredients is a massive bonus.
Alongside the fine cuisine is an excellently-priced wine list. Six well kept choices are offered by the glass, as well as bubbles and dessert wines, with a main wine list of 20 more popular wines from around the world. Two beers & cider are on draught, plus a selection of bottled beers from around the world.
Whether looking for a romantic setting for dinner, a good meal with your friends or a place to meet for lunch before visiting the
Abbey House Gardens, you’ll find it at 2A.
